Our Diets And Taking Fish Oil Supplements
Eating a healthy well balanced diet is so important these days especially for growing children. So many people get caught up in daily life that they find themselves eating fast foods and buying pre-packaged foods that are filled with preservatives and too many words we cannot pronounce. We see numerous stories on television promoting this vitamin or that supplement that and which can be pretty confusing for the average consumer. One thing that hasn’t changed though is how important and essential some of the fats and nutrients from fish are to our bodies. While some people are leery of toxins and mercury that could be found in some fish others are extremely allergic. With these facts in hand there is much to be said about supplementing the American diet with safe pharmaceutical grade fish oil.
You’ve probably heard the term “omega fatty acids” in association to healthy foods or a well balanced diet. EPA and DHA are both omega-3 fatty acids that are found in most of the fish we eat. Some fish that are high in these particular fatty acids are salmon, cod liver, and mackerel. Unfortunately, most people don’t consume nearly enough omega fatty acids, and low levels of DHA and EPA maybe been linked to such disorders as depression, bi-polar disorder, and even ADHD. Consuming large amounts of specific fish has can be associated with dangerously high levels of mercury and other toxins.
Supplementing your diet with pharmaceutical grade fish oil could benefit you in many ways. It can be harvested from fish in very cold waters in only precise parts of the world where environmental and human hazards are at a minimum, providing you with the purest form of the essential aspects of fish oil. When choosing a pure, quality fish oil, research the company’s guidelines to remove toxins ensuring they follow strict procedures.
Pregnant and nursing women should be particularly interested in a fish oil supplement because it may help growing fetuses and nursing infants develop essential brain functions associates with memory. DHA is also one of the main ingredients listed in infants’ formula as an essential element for growing babies. The omega fatty acid EPA has its own set of benefits. It may help with heart disease, lowering bad cholesterol, and improve some skin conditions!
It is true that the average American doesn’t consume enough of the right foods containing omega-3 fatty acids found in fish and certain plant matter to possibly help in brain growth and function. To ensure that our bodies are getting adequate amounts of the elements it needs, eating 2-3 servings of omega rich fish a week or supplementing the correct dosage of pharmaceutical grade fish oil could greatly impact your brains ability to function at its highest level as well as help with a myriad of other health and wellness benefits being researched today.

It’s The Fit, Not The Tag Size, That Matters
So many women make major fashion faux pas. We choose a garment based on the tag size, not on whether it actually fits right. Even though you can squeeze into that size 8 or size 10, you may not be wearing the correct size for your body.
"We often think that if an article of clothing fits around our body that it fits our body, but this is not the same thing," says celebrity stylist Laura Siebold. Clothes should gently curve around your body, without clinging but without hiding your shape, she says.
As unflattering as baggy, shapeless clothing can be, wearing outfits that are too small can be an even bigger fashion disaster. It is best to try a size up (even if it’s hard to do) to see if it is a better fit rather than wear a look that is too tight.
Ignore size tags and go for what looks best on your body. Here’s a rule of thumb: To make sure you have the right size, make sure there's about a finger's width of space between your skin and the garment. No more and no less!

Massage: The Extra Touch
In my Massage Therapy practice I feel the need to use therapy tools such as moist heat packs for relaxation and relieve muscle tension. I use the packs before, during and after treatments.
My clients are hard working UPS drivers, construction workers, steel workers and those who have physically intensive work. Their bodies are sore, tense and just plain hurting, but they cannot afford to take days off for sick leave. I make their appointment one that lets them feel energized and ready to get back to work
There are several insurance companies that offer alternative treatment programs for medical massage. Employers get the benefit of employees feeling energized and less injury prone. In return for the benefits of the employer and employee, I get compensated for doing what I love.
Some companies in our area have what they call “Corporate Challenge”, employees compete under the flag of their employers. Those that have not quite hit their athletic peak come to visit after they have gone too far for the sake of the company. Do I consider myself a sports massage therapist? Yes, I certainly do. My clients are again participating in their individual and team events.
When it is needed I sub out at a “Destination Resort & Spa”, and occasionally come in contact with the tennis injuries that are related to the elbow, knee and lower back. There are a few golfers who have shoulder and back soreness also. The moist hot/cold packs and wraps are a therapist best friend. I consider myself a massage therapist, but the clients want the therapeutic massage.
I am impressed with the moist heat it penetrates and has lasting relief from tension, injury and pain. After treatment, clients are still feeling the effect of moist heat. They say their bodies “tingle and feel alive.” I am fortunate to be able to have on hand the therapy tools that my clients can purchase. I feel it is an advantage to have the product there for my clients to purchase; everybody seems to be happy with being able to take home the magic.
The products that I work with are filled with rice, whole natural herbs and spices selected for their unique healing effects on the mind, body and spirit. These therapeutic blends offer analgesic and sedating properties to help relieve pain, promote relaxation, enhance sleep and reduce physical and emotional tension.
